Miky Picon is one of the most successful French competitors. He is naturally built for surfing, with a strong frame and quick reflexes. Combine this with a style honed on the hollow beach breaks of his hometown Capbreton, and you have the ingredients for success.
Miky first started surfing in Morocco age 6. He moved with his parents to France, where he earned himself 2nd place in the French under 12s. He has since been bred to succeed.
Miky has a clean and professional act. At all levels of his career, Miky’s results have been incredible: He won the French title 4 times and European Championship twice in 98/99, and placed 9th in the World Games in Huntington, California in 1996. He won the prestigious 1997 and 1999 edition of the Quiksilver Pro Junior event. Later that same year and still a junior, he won the EPSA Title and received an invitational wildcard to the Quiksilver Pro WCT event, where he finished 9th by beating the current number one Danny Wills.
Since then, Miky has remained a serious competitor in the WQS and WCT tours. He earned best European Performance in 2006 for his first year on The Dream Tour. In 2008, Miky finished 18th on the ASP World Tour including a 3rd place result at Hang Loose Santa Catarina Pro, Brazil. This result earned Miky another ticket for ASP World Championship Tour on 2009 where he finished 36th overall. 2010 Miky will be back on Tour with his friends, a wiser and more mature surfer, capable of taking scalps wherever and whenever he surfs.
