Hampus Mosesson acquired the title of "Ripper" two years in a row at the Battle, a freestyle international and invitational competition which took place in Sweden. During his third participation, he obtained "Smooth Operator" title which rewards the rider with the nicest style. Two precious qualifiers which allow you to consider the level of performance of the 25 years old rider. His extrovert personality, his irreverrence and his good mood make him one of the riders most appreciated by his peers. Because Hampus is simply happy to live of his passion. In contests, he is also one of the favourite among the public who appreciates his spectacular and unpredictable riding. Everybody remembers his huge backside air he boosted at 9 m during the Battle in 2005 which eventually led him to receive the title of "rookie of the year" by Snowboarder magazine that same year.
Hampus grew up in Tärnaby, the fief of Ingemar Stenmark the greatest competition skier of history. Therefore, i twas quite logical that Hampus made his first lines on the mountain on skis and soon showed himself as one of the big hopes of Sweden. But it was because some guy told him that he couldn't ski and skateboard at the same time, that he jumped on a snowboard ans quit skiing. An attitude which shows a certain force of character. Fast, he obtains a Black Snow, his first board. " There were even no highbacks ! ", he remembers. He then enters a snowboard school and rapidly becomes a contest machine. In 98, he obtains a world junior champion title which launches his pro career followed by numerous places and podium across the world thanks to his natural talent. But if Hampus chose snowboarding it was mainly because of the freedom it gives, " there are not so much sports like that ".
Hampus is a modern and complete snowboarder who feels comfortable not only in the park, like most of the Scandinavian riders, but also in powder fields, his favourite ground, and in the jib. Smart, audacious, inventive and unpredictable, Hampus is a rider with a huge potential who always tries to push his own limits. Sure, he's reserving us some good surprises...
