Markku Koski had a good year in 2007. He accomplished some pretty good performances with some podiums on the TTR World Snowboard Tour which led him to the 22nd spot of the general classification. He also turned his video parts in the Child Support film for StepChild, other and also in White Balance and Lost In Transition produced by snowboarding video giant Standard Films.
 
Native of Sievi in Finland, Markku Koski discovered snowboarding within the family circle, motivated by his two elder brothers who initiated him to the sport. " They brought back a snowboard from the local ski resort. They first tried and I of course followed. " So begins quite simply Markku Koski's career, one of the most stylish riders which counts Finland, a great reserve of snowboarders of the Great North. Markku still detains the first board on which he made his first traces and his first jumps, a 165 cm Crazy Banana. Although he learned to snowboard on the short slopes and frozen snowparks on the hills of Finland, sometimes after school, in the evening and in the difficult conditions of the long Scandinavian winter, it is definitely in the european powder fields where he prefers to express his snowboardin talents. He improved his snowboarding alongside technical and worldwide class freestylers such as Risto Matila, Sami Makela or Tuomas Kaatari with whom he could develop his style in perfect but hard as concrete half pipes you can meet in the small mountains of Louekallio. The type of ground which asks for commitment and precise technical skills, characteristics that are typical of Finnish snowboarding.
Markku Koski is an accomplished athlete since he practiced numerous sports such as volleyball, soccer, baseball or tennis before opting definitely for the snowboard, an obvious choice. On a snowboard, Markku Koski is spectacular and has one of the nicest styles in the snowboard world. Inventive and innovative, he contributes to the progress of his sport having accomplished the first cab 1440 of the history in competition. A true competitor, Markku counts some pretty good performances one of which is a prestigious bronze medal in the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin.
Quiet and calm, Markku likes to chill, listen to music and to go out for gigs with his friends or stay in shape in the gym when he doesn't snowboard.
